Criminal Research Provider Certification

The Criminal Research Provider Certification Exam covers the fundamental concepts embodied in the NAPBS Criminal Record Provider Guidelines. The Provider Advisory Group, in support of the overall mission of NAPBS to advance excellence in the screening profession, has published several guidelines. These guidelines were adopted by NAPBS after an extensive process involving collaboration at all levels by industry providers and CRAs alike.

Certificate Holder Benefits

Upon passing the certification exam, participants receive a certificate that is valid for two years and are so designated in the online membership directory.

Exam Details

The exam has a time limit of one hour, and a score of 100% is required to pass the exam. Individuals may have the NAPBS Criminal Record Provider Guidelines available for reference during the exam. The test may be taken more than once if needed to achieve the required 100% score. The exam must be completed and passed within 11 months of the purchase date.

Recertification

Criminal Research Provider Certification is valid for two years and must be current to apply for Recertification. To begin the recertification process, register for the recertification exam using the link below. The recertification exam must be completed and passed within 30 days of the purchase date.
